A total lunar eclipse event is going to happen tomorrow (November 8). This phenomenon can be seen in eastern and northeastern parts of India.

A total lunar eclipse will occur in India tomorrow (Nov.8). The eclipse is visible from all parts of India at the time of moonrise. However, the onset of the eclipse and the various forms associated with it cannot be seen from any part of India. Because all the events are taking place before the moon rise. The result of full and various partial form conditions can be seen from the eastern parts of the country.

From the rest of the country only the results of the partial form conditions are known. The eclipse will be visible in an area that includes South America, North America, Australia, Asia, the North Atlantic Ocean and the Pacific Ocean.

The eclipse will begin at 2:39 PM IST. The total eclipse will begin at 3:46 PM IST. The end time of the total eclipse is 5:12 pm and the end time of the partial phases is 6:19 pm IND time. Cities in the eastern parts of the country, such as Kolkata and Guwahati, will be witnessing various stages of the total eclipse during moonrise. For Kolkata, the total duration from Moonrise to the end is 20 minutes and from Moonrise to the end of the partial eclipse is 1 hour 27 minutes.

For Guwahati, the total duration from moonrise to end is 38 minutes and from moonrise to partial eclipse is 1 hour 45 minutes. In other cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru, a partial eclipse will take place after totality during moon rise. In the above mentioned cities, the time from moonrise to the end of partial eclipse is 50 min, 18 min, 40 min and 29 min respectively. The next lunar eclipse can be seen from India on October 28, 2023. And it is a partial eclipse.

The last lunar eclipse visible from India will be on November 19, 2021. It is a partial eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs on a full moon day when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon, and all three are in a straight line. A total lunar eclipse occurs when the entire Moon comes under the Earth’s shadow, and a partial lunar eclipse occurs when part of the Moon comes under the Earth’s shadow. In Chennai, Tamil Nadu, the moonrise time is 17 hours 39 minutes Indian time and the lunar eclipse can be seen for 40 minutes.

The Devasthanam has announced that the main doors of Tirupati Eyumalayan Temple will be closed for 11 hours from 8.30 am to 7.30 pm due to lunar eclipse tomorrow. Due to this the free Darshan for that time has been canceled in the temple. Similarly, it is practiced in temples in many parts of India.
