Tori Amos Announces New Album, European Tour, and Direct Critique of Political Landscape

A new record from the acclaimed singer-songwriter arrives in April 2026, accompanied by her largest European tour in a decade and a pointed commentary on the state of American democracy.

Tori Amos is set to release her 18th studio album, “In Times of Dragons,” in April 2026, via Universal’s Fontana label. The release will be supported by a comprehensive 17-country U.K. and European tour spanning April and May of the same year. However, the album is more than just a musical offering; it represents a direct engagement with the current political climate, specifically what Amos describes as the “current abhorrent non accidental burning down of democracy in real time by the ‘Dictator believing Lizard Demons’ in their usurpation of America.”

According to a press release, “In Times of Dragons” is a “powerful journey of resilience and awakening, where the pursuit of freedom meets forces that seek to control and silence.” This thematic direction signals a continuation of Amos’s long-standing willingness to address socio-political issues in her work. The artist has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration, previously stating in a 2024 interview with The Guardian that, “We’re looking at an administration whereby there seems to be almost a gender apartheid happening, and where misogyny is common practice.”

Her previous album, “Ocean to Ocean,” was conceived during a turbulent period in American history – the final days of the first Trump administration and the immediate aftermath of the January 6th Capitol riot. This context underscores Amos’s commitment to reflecting contemporary events in her art.

Beyond music, Amos has recently expanded her creative output. Earlier this year, she released her debut children’s book, “Tori and the Muses,” alongside a companion soundtrack, demonstrating her versatility as an artist.

Fans will have the opportunity to secure pre-sale tickets for the upcoming tour by pre-ordering “In Times of Dragons” in the U.K. and Europe before Tuesday, October 7. The tour promises to be a significant event for both long-time fans and new audiences, offering a platform for Amos to share her powerful message of resilience and resistance in a rapidly changing world.
