Marche Region Eyes US & Northern Europe for Tourism Boost Following Election Win
The italian region of Marche is strategically refocusing its tourism efforts on international markets, particularly the united States and Northern Europe, following recent elections, with a renewed emphasis on experiential travel and year-round appeal.
President Francesco Acquaroli, recently reconfirmed in office, highlighted the importance of the TTG trade show in rimini as a key platform for relaunching the region’s tourism sector. “This fair has grown a lot,†Acquaroli stated, “It is an opportunity for international and national markets to meet and, above all, a tool for relaunching tourism in our region.†He emphasized that this strategy builds upon successes of recent years, aiming to further enhance the attractiveness of marche’s offerings.
A core component of this strategy involves expanding beyond conventional European markets. “America without a doubt, than Northern Europe,†acquaroli affirmed. “We must open up abroad, because only in this way can we convey the value of our region. The recent electoral campaign also provided an opportunity for reflection on potential improvements within the tourism sector.“The electoral campaign is a moment of growth and discussion,†a senior official stated. “It served to take stock and measure actions with respect to the times and the world that changes around us.†This period of assessment is intended to ensure a focused and effective approach to tourism growth.
While specific resource allocations are still being finalized, the management is committed to prioritizing tourism. “Let’s complete the administrative steps first, but we will continue to give ample space to tourism,†Acquaroli assured. The question of whether he will retain direct oversight of the tourism portfolio remains open,with a decision expected “in a few days.â€
The President concluded his appearance at the TTG with a series of meetings, including engagements with representatives from CNA, confartigianato, and various municipalities, including the “Costa dei Borghi†team.He also greeted Miss Italia, a special guest following her coronation in Porto San Giorgio. The director of Atim le Marche, Santucci, remained at the TTG to continue promoting the region’s tourism offerings.
