The Silicon Mountains summit dedicated to the implementation of smart solutions in the economy will be held in Yerevan on the initiative of the Union of Information and Communication Technologies Employers. One of the supporters of the summit is Akba Bank. The main topic is the prospect of digitization of the economy.
Two years ago, Akba Bank started a large-scale digital transformation program, and already this year it announced that it is also positioning itself as a technology company. At the summit, the bank will share its experience and its formula for building a digital economy.
“Talking about the digital economy, one cannot but talk about the digital services and digital products of modern fintechs or banks. It is clear that there is no choice here. Digital transformation is a necessity for banks and financial organizations. If companies want to continue their business, they should go in that direction. There are undiscovered opportunities that we must work towards in order to fill them. We are moving in that direction and we are sure that together with our partners we will be able to bring new technologies to the republic and spread them outside the republic. Globalization allows us to expand our markets and I am sure that with our solutions we can act as exporters,” said Hakob Andreasyan, Chief Executive Officer of Akba Bank.

“This summit has a clear target: the factor of using information technologies as a tool in various branches of the economy, which, unfortunately, is not in a very good condition in Armenia. We think that our businessmen representing different branches of the economy should participate in similar events in order to have ideas about the digitalization of the general economy, as well as to find edges of cooperation with each other,” said Hovik Musayelyan, Director of “Synopsis Armenia” CJSC, adding that still Soviet Armenia used to be a unique “Silicon Valley” and now it is necessary to restore that tradition through technological development.
