The official division of the Japanese automaker Toyota in Russia, Toyota Motor LLC, is recalling 47,007 cars in the country due to problems with the operation of the data transmission module software, the press service of Rosstandart reports.

The report states that the recall includes Lexus, Toyota Camry, Corolla, ES 200, ES 250, ES 350, GX 460, Hiace, LC 300, LC Prado, LS 350, LS 500, LX 500D, LX 600, NX 250 , NX 350 sold from November 28, 2020 to present.

The reason for the recall of cars is a problem with the operation of the data module software. “In the event of a serious accident, the car will not be able to receive a callback from the automated emergency response information system in case of accidents,” the press service noted.

In addition, on some vehicles, there is a possibility that the most recent vehicle position data may not be saved if the ignition is turned on within a few minutes of turning it off.

Toyota suspended the work of the plant in St. Petersburg in March 2022. This decision was made due to violations in the logistics supply chains of parts. At the end of September, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced that the company had decided to close the enterprise. The information was confirmed by Toyota. The company noted that after six months of downtime, they see no prospects for resuming the work of the plant.
