The Ministry of Commerce announced today, Saturday, the arrival of a new ship loaded with Thai rice to the territorial waters for the food basket.
A statement by the General Company for Foodstuff Trading at the Ministry of Trade, received by the (INA), stated that “the ship (MV BLUE RAY) arrived in territorial waters loaded with 41,500 thousand tons of Thai rice for the food basket items.”
He added that “laboratory inspectors in Umm Qasr, in cooperation with the Quality Control Department staff, withdrew the initial samples for the purpose of conducting an initial physical examination on them, and then sending them to the central laboratory to conduct laboratory tests to ensure their compliance with Iraqi standard specifications.”
He pointed out that “after the results of the examination confirm the validity of the material, the material will be distributed to the company’s sites and branches according to the marketing plan prepared by the marketing department to prepare it for citizens within the food basket rations.”
