A 71-year-old man was killed today (Saturday) after being swept away and injured in the head while entering a pool in the mountainous Jordan River, near the Kfar Hanassi bridge. MDA crews who were rushed to the scene by helicopter were forced to determine his death on the ground, after being evacuated lifeless.

After being swept away, Golan Rescue Teams who rushed to the scene located a 71-year-old man unconscious and began medical treatment and the 669 Unit Rescue team rescued him with a helicopter to the MDA team that was waiting nearby. .

MDA paramedic Doron Kadosh said: “We were informed about a man who was with a group of hikers entering the water and immediately began to drift while being injured, he lost consciousness and drowned, there was no access with an ambulance and Golan rescue crews were rushed to the scene. “It was determined in the field, the helicopter rescued him lifeless and we evacuated his body to Ziv Hospital.”
