Tragedy Strikes as Three Differently-Abled Children Lose Their Lives in Train Accident

CHENNAI – In a heart-wrenching incident, three differently-abled children lost their lives after being struck by an electric train near Chennai Oorpakkam railway station. The incident occurred while the children were innocently playing on the tracks, unaware of the impending danger.

The victims have been identified as Ravi (12) and Suresh (15), sons of Jampanna, and Manjunath (11), son of Anumanthappa. These young boys, who hailed from the Hubli region of Karnataka, were staying with their grandmother in Karnataka and had come to Chennai to visit their parents during the Dussehra holiday.

According to eyewitnesses, the three boys were spotted walking on the tracks near Thandavalam when the train, traveling from the Chennai coast towards Chengalpattu, suddenly approached them. In an instant, tragedy struck, and the boys were thrown by the impact, resulting in severe injuries that proved fatal. Their bodies were scattered, leaving them dead on the spot.

The local Tambaram Railway Police acted swiftly upon receiving the information and recovered the bodies. They were then transported to the Tambaram Government Hospital for further examination and post-mortem procedures.

Adding to the magnitude of this already devastating incident, all three boys were differently-abled. The elder brothers, Ravi and Suresh, were hearing impaired, while their younger brother, Manjunath, was speechless.

The community has been left in shock and grief as news of the tragedy unfolded. The loss of these innocent lives has undoubtedly caused a great tragedy, which has deeply saddened the local community.
