Accused Sachu Samson lived in Anathalavattam near Thiruvananthapuram. The incident happened on February 23, 2016 when transgender Samson befriended a boy who was traveling by train to Thiruvananthapuram. Later, Samson took the boy to Thampanoor in the heart of the Kerala capital and sexually assaulted him.

Scared by the incident, the boy did not tell his family. After that, Samson contacted the boy several times and tried to meet him, but the boy refused. After this, Samson continued to text the boy. Even after the boy blocked his number, he kept sending messages on Facebook Messenger.

However, the boy’s mother noticed a change in the boy’s behavior and that he was nervous. After seeing the messages on Facebook Messenger, the mother started replying to Samson, and the mother reported the sexual assault to the police. As directed by the police, the boy’s mother texted Samson and made him come to Tambanur. After this, the police arrested Samson in Thambanur.

The court hearing this case sentenced the accused transgender Samson to 7 years rigorous imprisonment and fine. This is the first time that a transgender person has been convicted in such a case in Kerala.
