Istanbul: The tremors of the Turkish earthquake were felt not only in neighboring countries but also in Greenland, which is more than five thousand kilometers away. According to the Geological Survey of Denmark and Greenland, large earthquakes in Turkey are recorded on seismographs in Denmark and Greenland.

The waves reached the seismograph on the Danish island of Bornholm five minutes after the first quake in Turkey. Eight minutes later, the tremor hit the east coast of Greenland. At the same time, the Italian government issued a tsunami warning for the country’s southern coast following the earthquake, but later withdrew it. Train services were temporarily suspended in the southern regions of Sicily, Calabria and Apulia.
