Former Cork Mayor Patrick Gerard Murphy Dies Unexpectedly
Fianna Fáil Councillor patrick Gerard Murphy, who served as Mayor of County Cork from 2018 to 2019, died suddenly at his home in west Cork.
Taoiseach Micheál Martin expressed deep sorrow Wednesday upon learning of the unexpected death of Patrick Gerard Murphy, a fellow party member and a respected councillor. Murphy, who had been a member of Cork County Council since 2008, passed away at his home in west Cork.

Patrick Gerard Murphy is survived by his brothers Michael and Noel. He was predeceased by his sister margurite and his parents, Mary T and Patrick.
