In Udmurtia, due to snowfall and wind, a temporary restriction on the movement of trucks has been introduced. This was reported in the Republican Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The ban, which will be in effect until one in the morning on January 16, concerns the M7 Volga highway at the entrances to the cities of Izhevsk and Perm, a bypass around the capital of Udmurtia, on sections of federal and regional roads in six districts.

To ensure safety, additional traffic police crews were put on duty, the inspection added. Residents of the region are advised not to leave their settlements for the next 12 hours unless absolutely necessary.

Videos of huge traffic jams have already appeared on social networks. So, a multi-kilometer queue of trucks lined up on the Votkinsk-Izhevsk road. Passage for cars is difficult. The traffic is regulated by the police and rescuers. Suburban bus services in this direction have been cancelled.

As forecasters promised, snowfalls came to Udmurtia the day before. Since the beginning of January, according to the Hydrometeorological Center, a monthly rainfall has fallen in the republic.
