/ The election campaigns of presidential candidates Joe Biden and Donald Trump in the upcoming US presidential elections witnessed an escalation in attacks and criticism between them.

Over the past few days, the two men have exchanged harsh criticism and sarcastic videos as well.

In one of the videos that the Republican candidate posted on his platform, “Truth Social,” yesterday evening, Friday, a truck appeared to be flying American flags and on the back was a picture of Biden, lying on the ground, handcuffed, as if he had been kidnapped.

While the video, which is no more than 20 seconds long, was well received by Trump supporters, it sparked a wave of anger among Democrats and Biden fans.

Some commentators on social media described Trump as a “monster.”

While others recalled what his supporters did the day they stormed the Capitol building on January 6, 2021, after Trump’s incitement, they said.

On the other hand, Trump campaign spokesman Stephen Cheung downplayed the importance of the issue, and said, “The picture was placed on the back of a pickup truck that was only driving on the highway,” according to what Newsweek magazine reported.

However, he accused the Democrats of calling for violence against Trump and his family, and of using the judicial system as a weapon against him as well.

He also listed a long list of alleged threats made by Democrats to the former president, dating back to 2018 or even earlier.

He also cited the speaker’s “threat” that Biden explicitly directed at his Republican opponent, when he told him in March 2018: “If we were in high school, I would have taken him behind the gym and hit him hard.”

It is noteworthy that Trump repeatedly, during his speeches and election campaigns, used to mock Biden, question his mental abilities and focus, and also mocked his verbal lapses, as well as his stumbles and falls to the ground.

Biden, 81, faces concerns about his age and fitness as he seeks to win a second four-year term.

Meanwhile, recent opinion polls conducted by Reuters/Ipsos showed that his support rate stands at 40% in a close race with Trump (77 years old) before the elections scheduled for next November 5.
