Kenneth Chesebro, attorney Donald Trump during his 2020 campaign, pleaded guilty today in the case regarding the attempt to reverse the results of the elections in Georgia and thus admitted to having conspired with the then president of the United States to achieve that goal.

Chesebro is the third defendant in the case Georgia who pleads guilty and the second member of Trump’s legal team to do so, a day after attorney Sidney Powell’s guilty plea.

The lawyer pleaded guilty in a hearing held this Friday in the Fulton County Court that is judging this case for which there are 19 defendants, including the former president, and agreed to testify in any trials in this regard.

During the hearing, he admitted having committed the crimes of which he is accused, including having “conspired” with Trump and others to try to reverse the result of the presidential election in Georgia and grant the victory of that state to the Republican.

His guilty plea comes after an agreement between prosecutors and Chesebro’s defense, who agrees to be sentenced to five years of probation and will pay a $5,000 fine and perform 100 hours of social service.

The lawyer also assured that he had already complied with another of the requirements of the agreement, that of writing a letter to the citizens of Georgia asking sorry for your actions.

The testimony of Chesebro – who is now prohibited by the agreement from communicating with the rest of the defendants – could be key in the impeachment against Trump in this caseone of the four penalties faced by the former president, who despite all the accusations continues with his electoral campaign.

Trump remains the favorite candidate in the Republican primaries to win the party’s candidacy for the White House.
