Trying to control content? Saudi Arabia imprisoned Wikipedia employees

Will the online encyclopedia remain free? A disturbing report this morning (Friday) by the British newspaper The Guardian shows that Saudi Arabia is trying to control the website’s content.

According to the report based on human rights activists, Saudi Arabia imprisoned two employees of the website Wikipedia in an attempt to control the content that appears on the site.

One of the workers was imprisoned for 32 years and another worker was sentenced to eight years. It was also reported that the Saudi government employed agents who succeeded in infiltrating the senior ranks of the Wikipedia site in the region.

The newspaper reported that no response was received from Wikipedia or the Saudi government
