Türkiye directs air strikes on “labor” sites in Iraq and Syria

/ The Turkish Ministry of Defense announced, on Saturday, launching air strikes in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and northern Syria, which resulted in the destruction of 25 targets of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, and the killing of a number of them.

The ministry stated in a statement that the raids targeted PKK sites in the Hakurk and Qandil regions in Iraq, as well as in northern Syria, and led to the destruction of 25 targets, including caves, shelters, ammunition stores, and explosive materials, in addition to killing a number of militants.

The Turkish Ministry of Defense confirmed, earlier today, that the death toll of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and Syria had risen to 23 members, as part of operations carried out by Ankara in response to the killing of 9 Turkish soldiers during clashes with the workers as they attempted to infiltrate a Turkish base in the region.

On April 17, 2022, Turkey launched the “Claw-Lock” operation against the strongholds of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party, in the areas of Matina, Al-Zab, and Afshin-Basyan, within the Kurdistan Region.
