/ Iran and Turkey signed 10 cooperation agreements, with the aim of enhancing investments and developing economic and regional cooperation, especially regarding the special circumstances in Gaza.

The Iranian “IRNA” news agency stated that the two countries signed 10 documents during the eighth meeting of the Supreme Committee for Joint Cooperation between them in the Turkish capital, Ankara, where the signing was attended by the presidents of the two countries, Ebrahim Raisi and Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Raisi left Tehran yesterday, Wednesday, for Ankara, to attend the meeting, accompanied by a high-ranking political and economic delegation, where Erdogan received them during an official ceremony. Then, the two presidents held a closed bilateral summit, after which the eighth meeting of the joint high-level cooperation committee between the two countries began.

The Iranian President and his Turkish counterpart are expected to hold a joint press conference to explain the results of this visit to the media.

Last December, Iran and Turkey announced their intention to increase the volume of joint trade to $30 billion annually, through enhancing banking and customs cooperation, as well as cooperation in the fields of gas, energy, electricity, transit, and developing border trade.

The two sides stressed the existence of a decisive will by the presidents of the two countries to raise the level of economic relations. The Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister also raised the problems that hinder the activity of truck drivers on the Bazargan-Gorbolagh border (northwest), calling on the directors of the border crossings in both countries to increase mutual visits and determine procedures to facilitate the movement of trucks.
