Volksbank Lahr Celebrates Local sports stars with €4,500 in Awards

Volksbank Lahr recently honored the dedication of local sports organizations,distributing €4,500 in prize money at an award ceremony held in the Values House on November 1,2025. The competition, now in its 16th year at the regional level and 22nd nationally, recognizes outstanding voluntary commitment too popular sport.

At the ceremony, CEO Peter Rottenecker praised the participants for their contributions to the community through their dedication to athletics. “This competition is a testament to the power of sport to bring people together and foster a spirit of volunteerism,” a senior official stated.

“Generations Dance” Takes Top prize

TV Schuttertal secured first place with their innovative program, “Generations Dance – Dancing connects young and old.” The project aims to bridge generational gaps through the joy of dance. Board member Cornelia Klumpp and project manager Silvia Himmelsbach accepted the top prize – a bronze star and €1,500 – on behalf of the club.

Kempfenhof-Seelbach Earns Second Place

The Kempfenhof-Seelbach riding and tournament community was awarded second place for their “Satteltalent – strong together in the saddle – where talents grow and friendships mature” initiative. This program focuses on developing equestrian talent and fostering camaraderie among riders.

• Ettenheim health and rehabilitation sports club: Acknowledged for their work in orthopedics and pulmonary sports.
• Hürsterhof equestrian sports friends: Supported for their youth promotion initiative.
• Riding and breeding club: Commended for their efforts in preserving equestrian sports.
• Hugsweier sports bowling club 67: Recognized for their bowling program.
• Lahr tennis club: Supported for their wheelchair tennis program.
• Nonnenweier table tennis club: Acknowledged for their inclusive “table tennis for EVERYONE” initiative.
