Karachi: 28 people died in twin explosions in Pakistan, where general elections are due to be held today under the shadow of violence and coup possibilities. About 50 people were injured. Many vehicles and shops were damaged.

The explosion occurred near the offices of two candidates in the southwestern province of Balochistan. A bomb placed on a bike exploded in front of the office of independent candidate Asfandyar Kakar in Pishin district. 18 people were killed.

Later, 150 km away, 10 people were killed in an explosion in Quilla Saif Ullah district. The blast took place in front of the office of JUI-F (Jamiyat Ulama-e-Islam Fazl) party. No one has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
