Streaming service Twitch returned back part of the rules that he recently introduced regarding erotic content on the platform. Showing nudity in any form (real or fictional) is now prohibited, but this does not apply to games with an adult rating. Previously, the new rules made it possible to demonstrate drawn, animated or sculpted naked breasts, buttocks and genitals.
The company said it had “gone too far” with the new rules. Twitch believes that AI-generated digital images of nudity have become so realistic that they can no longer be distinguished from photographs. The company regrets that they could not foresee this development of events, and due to the concerns of the community, Twitch decided to back down on this issue.
According to the new rules, users of the platform can show body art and writing on the chest and buttocks, but are not allowed to show sex or masturbation. It was allowed to show erotic dances, including pole dance, twerking, striptease with undressing and demonstrative gestures. It is also now possible to conduct alcohol streams and smoke during broadcasts, if the appropriate note has been made. Erotic broadcasts will not be shown in recommendations on the main page, but they will be available in the general list of channels and subscription blog.
