At an event to mark the 75th anniversary of the Basic Law, an incident occurred in Stuttgart in which two members of the AfD parliamentary group were slightly injured. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in front of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament on the Stuttgart opera forecourt. According to police reports, a group of people disrupted the AfD’s information stand by holding up a banner and attempting to block the stand.

The argument escalated when members of the AfD faction were verbally and physically attacked. Among those affected were two members of the state parliament who suffered minor injuries. No medical treatment was necessary. After the incident, the suspects fled on foot towards the state parliament, but the police were able to arrest two women aged 19 and 23. Whether they were part of the operation is currently being investigated.

Police are continuing their investigation and looking for other people involved in the attack. A suspect is described as approximately 20 to 25 years old, wearing glasses, light blue jeans and a black rain jacket. A female suspect is said to be between 20 and 30 years old, with brown, curly hair and wearing a black hoodie and a checked coat. The police have video recordings of the incident, which are currently being evaluated, and the state security agency has taken over the investigation.
