Kuwait City: Two expatriates were arrested during the inspection conducted by the security personnel of the Ministry of Interior in Kuwait. Resident violators were arrested. Locally produced and bottled liquor was seized from them. 98 bottles of liquor were seized from their possession.
The accused were arrested during a search conducted in Mahboola area. There is also a case of absconding from the sponsor against them. One of them has a travel ban. Officials informed that the arrested persons have been handed over to the concerned departments for further legal action.

The security personnel foiled an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of alcohol into Kuwait the other day. More than 18,000 bottles of liquor in three containers were tried to be brought through the land border of the country. Six people have been arrested in connection with the incident.
The liquor bottles were hidden in large containers that were carrying items including cables and batteries so as not to be immediately noticed. According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior of Kuwait on social media, these goods arrived from two Gulf countries. The authorities have also informed that the six arrested persons are citizens of Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Bangladesh.
For several months, strong inspections have been carried out in various parts of Kuwait to find illegal expatriates. Those who work in the country in violation of residency rules, labor law violators, those who stay illegally in the country after the expiration of their documents, and those who abscond from their sponsors are being apprehended.

Expatriates caught for violations of the law are immediately transferred to deportation centers and deported from there as soon as possible. Those caught in this way cannot come back to Kuwait. Also entry ban will be imposed to all GCC countries for a specified period.
