Tragedy Strikes South Sacramento Nightclub as Owner and Patron Killed in Shooting

The owner of a popular south Sacramento nightclub was among two victims killed after alleged gang members fired into a crowd Sunday outside the establishment. The Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call at 1:45 a.m. of a shooting in the unincorporated Parkway neighborhood at the Sacto By Night lounge. The two men who died at the scene have not yet been identified by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office.

According to investigators, a group of alleged gang members at the club refused to leave when it closed. A fight erupted after employees managed to get every patron out of the club. At least one purported gang member fired shots, killing two people, before fleeing in a white vehicle. The California Highway Patrol later found a vehicle matching the description, detaining the people inside and recovering firearms.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released the suspect’s names and said deputies would do so when charges have been filed. It’s also unclear how the other three occupants of the vehicle were involved.

The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call the Sheriff’s Office or the Sacramento Valley Crime Stoppers. Tipsters who divulge information leading to an arrest may receive a $1,000 reward and can remain anonymous. Anonymous information can be left by calling 916-874-8477.

This tragic incident has sent shockwaves through the community, and the nightclub’s owner, along with another victim, will be deeply missed. The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone with information to come forward to help bring the perpetrators to justice.
