The KR NNI announced on Thursday on the police.hu website that Interpol’s International Child Sexual Exploitation database and foreign partner authorities regularly help Hungarian investigators to identify domestic perpetrators who share pedophile recordings on the dark web.
At the end of January, child pornography recordings were uploaded to such a dark web forum by a person who was still unknown at the time, whom KR NNI investigators managed to identify, and it was also discovered that this user also downloaded sexual content recordings of babies years ago and stored them on his cloud storage for years, they wrote. .
The man from the county of Komárom-Esztergom was arrested by cyber detectives at his residence on February 20. During the search, they seized his computer equipment and data carriers, which contained numerous recordings containing child pornography.
By analyzing the devices, the 37-year-old man’s partner was identified, a man from Budapest who, according to the suspicion, abused his own minor child regularly and shared the recordings of this with his partner; he already uploaded them to the dark web, making them available to other users.
The 42-year-old father from Budapest was arrested by the investigators on February 23, after which he was also searched and all tools and objects relevant to the case were seized.
According to the statement, the 37-year-old man was suspected of child pornography, while the 42-year-old man was suspected of child pornography and sexual violence. The KR NNI took them into custody and then initiated their arrest, which was ordered by the Esztergom District Court in the meantime.
It was also announced that there was no need to remove the child from the family, he is safe with his mother, however, the police notified the guardianship authority about the incident in order to take the necessary measures.
