Tyson Recalls 30,000 Pounds of Chicken Nuggets Due to Metal Contamination

In a recent announcement, Tyson Foods has issued a recall for nearly 30,000 pounds of chicken nuggets due to potential contamination with metal pieces. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) issued a warning on Saturday, alerting consumers to the possible presence of metal pieces in Tyson’s dinosaur-shaped chicken nuggets.

The recall specifically applies to Tyson Foods’ 29-ounce plastic bag packages containing frozen, “fully cooked fun nuggets breaded shaped chicken patties” with a “best by” date of September 4, 2024. These products were distributed to various states, including Alabama, California, Illinois, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee, Virginia, and Wisconsin.

The USDA’s Food Safety and Inspection Service expressed concern that some customers may still have the affected chicken nuggets in their freezers. The nuggets in question were produced on September 5 and can be identified by the lot numbers 2483BRV0207, 2483BRV0208, 2483BRV0209, and 2483BRV0210.

According to the USDA, one minor oral injury has been reported in connection with the consumption of these chicken nuggets. Tyson Foods, in its recall alert, described the metal pieces as small and pliable, stating that the recall was initiated as a precautionary measure.

Consumers who have purchased the affected chicken nuggets are urged to either dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase. Tyson Foods has advised customers to cut out the UPC and date code from the packaging, discard the product, and contact them at 1-855-382-3101.

As of now, no other Tyson products have been affected by this recall. The company is working closely with the USDA to ensure the safety of its customers and has apologized for any inconvenience caused.

In order to prevent any further incidents, Tyson Foods has implemented additional quality control measures. The company is committed to providing safe and high-quality products to its consumers.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding this recall, please contact Tyson Foods at the provided hotline number. Stay informed and stay safe.
