Though, the American University in Blagoevgrad (AUBG), a private institution, surpassed all state universities, achieving a 5.68 GPA,making it the most selective university in Bulgaria overall. At the other end of the spectrum, the Technical University – Gabrovo reported the lowest average freshman GPA among state universities at 4.66, signifying a more accessible admissions process.

AUBG leads in this area, with 100% of its students participating in such programs. The Higher School of management in varna also has full student participation. While AUBG leads in percentage of students involved, Sofia University offers the largest number of joint programs (11), followed by the Higher School of Management (5). UASG and the Higher Naval School “N.Y. Vaptsarov” also demonstrate ample involvement, with 41% and nearly 28% participation respectively.
