Ugly “falling” of fans on Chelsea players

by time news

With Chelsea’s poor form this year and especially after the big defeat to Liverpool, fans of the team are furious. So much money has been spent, yet on the grass Pochettino’s team is not paying off.

The Blues are currently in tenth place in the Premier League and the club have spent over £1billion since the American investor took over at Stamford Bridge and yet that money has not paid off.

So all this anger was also transferred to social media with the online attacks being furious and succeeding one another. As a result, two Chelsea players deactivated their social media accounts after being verbally abused by the team’s fans.

Ecuador midfielder Caicedo and Argentina World Cup winner Fernandez are the two players who have been removed from social media. Fernandez joined from Benfica in a £103m deal in January 2023, while Caicedo sealed a £100m move from Brighton last summer.

Chelsea are expected to meet Jurgen Klopp’s side again later in the month when they meet in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley Stadium on February 25, so the Argentinian coach’s side need to regroup immediately if they are to be competitive.
