Ugreen has announced its entry into another field beyond the production of computer peripherals: a family of network attached storage devices, or NAS for short, which goes by the name NASync. Biogreen goes all out and launches with no less than six different products: at the lower end these are small devices designed for the home user, while at the top are large storage solutions designed for professional users and even for organizations that require an extremely large storage volume and high performance. The pricing, in any case, is very competitive – at least for the duration of the launch period.

All of Yogreen’s NAS products are based on 12th generation Intel Core processors, with the larger models having Core i7 processors. Another specification common to all models is DDR5 memory with a volume of 8 gigabytes, which according to Yogerin provides up to three times faster performance compared to DDR4 memory of the same volume. In the business models, the memory can be expanded up to 64 gigabytes.

Some models also come with Thunderbolt 4 connections that allow immediate connection to external storage devices, and an information transfer rate of up to 40 gigabit/s. The company emphasizes that NAS devices enjoy a distinct advantage over cloud storage solutions in regards to privacy, security and the ability to control the distribution of information. All models support SHA256 encoding in a standard that complies with the strictest conditions in financial institutions, and together with them an application for managing accounts, real-time security and even a built-in antivirus is offered.

There are two 10 gigabit network connections on the back that can be combined to work side by side, so the theoretical download speed is 2,500 megabits/per second. The operating system is based on the Debian Linux distribution.

The launch is underway in a Kickstarter campaign, in which the products will be sold at significant discounts. The base model intended for home users, the DXP2800 which comes with space for two drives, will be offered as part of the campaign at a price of $239.99, compared to a final price of $399.99 for the general public. The most expensive model, the DXP8800 Plus which comes with space for no less than eight drives, will cost $899.99 during the campaign, and then $1499.99.
