Corona spread in the UK: The first patient to be infected with the omicron strain has died from the complications of the virus, British Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced today (Monday). According to data from the local Ministry of Health, there are currently over 630 patients in the new corona variant in the country.

“After several weeks of uncertainty, it is now clear to all of us that the Omicron is leading to critically ill patients, and unfortunately at least one person has died after contracting the variant,” Johnson said during a visit to a vaccine complex in London. “We need to defend ourselves against the rapid pace of infection in the population. The best thing we can do now is protect ourselves with the booster vaccines.”

The government has determined: 2 countries in Europe will be defined as red

Last night, the Ministry of Health announced that Britain would be defined as a red country alongside Denmark – this is due to the high morbidity figures in the country. Starting at midnight on Thursday (December 16), the flight to the UK and Denmark will be banned, except in cases of approval from the Exceptions Committee. After receiving a negative result, they will be allowed to complete the period of isolation in their home, as long as they declare that no one other than them lives or stays in the home.
