Ukraine crisis – Putin imposes entry ban for EU representatives – Politics

The next diplomatic exchange of blows in the Ukraine crisis!

Russia has imposed an entry ban on several EU representatives, the Russian Foreign Ministry said. According to the letter, those affected include representatives of investigative authorities and parliamentarians who would pursue “anti-Russian politics”.

The Foreign Ministry in Moscow said on Friday that it was a reaction to an “absurd” policy of “unilateral restrictions” from Brussels. The European Union accuses the regime of Russian President Vladimir Putin of wanting to implement Russian laws in occupied Crimea – even though the territory belongs to Ukraine.

Meanwhile, around 130,000 Russian troops are on the border with Ukraine. The soldiers are just waiting for Putin’s command to invade. Fear of war is rampant in Ukraine.

“Russia is moving more troops, more heavy equipment and now thousands of combat troops to Belarus,” NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg said on Friday. “So the upgrade continues.”

Several European countries, above all Great Britain, want to support Ukraine with arms deliveries. Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock refuse to send weapons to the threatened country. The federal government sent 5,000 combat helmets instead.

The US is currently sending 300 Javelin anti-tank missiles to Ukraine as part of a $200 million military aid package.

Javelins are infrared-guided missiles designed to fly high in the air before slamming into their targets – making them particularly deadly against tanks, as armor is thinnest at the top.
