Ukraine announced on Tuesday (25) that it had evacuated 138 people from Sudan, a country increasingly affected by fighting between the army and paramilitaries, which broke out approximately 10 days ago.

Among those rescued are 87 Ukrainians, who are mostly aviation experts (in addition to their respective families), which could be advantageous for Ukraine, which has also been at war since last year and continues to seek reinforcements.

The other citizens are from Georgia and Peru, according to information released by telegram from the US intelligence department.

The statement also added that many of those people are now in Egypt, which borders Sudan and has been a common destination for groups seeking refuge, such as the team of Brazilian players waiting to enter the country and reach Cairo.

Despite the situation having worsened recently, Sudan has been experiencing internal conflicts since it gained independence in 1956. Now, with the former president, Omar al-Bashir, deposed by the military, there is no forecast for the restructuring of the country’s political scene.
