Ukraine exported 38.8 million tons of grain in 2022/2023 – Agro Plovdiv

The export of grain from Ukraine for the 2022/23 season was 38.8 million tons as of April 10, according to data from the country’s Ministry of Agriculture, Reuters reported, quoted by the BNR.

Volume in the current season from July 2022 to June 2023 (forecast) includes about 13.3 million tonnes of wheat, 22.8 million tonnes of maize and 2.31 million tonnes of barley.

For comparison: Ukraine exported 45.3 million tons of grain as of April 15, 2022.

The Agriculture Ministry also said that Ukrainian grain exports in the first ten days of April alone amounted to 848,000 tons.

Grain production in Ukraine, one of the world’s top grain producers and exporters, is likely to fall to around 53 million tonnes in net weight in calendar year 2022 from a record 86 million tonnes in 2021.

The government also said that in 2023, Ukraine could harvest 44.3 million tons of grain, including 16.6 million tons of wheat.
