The border issue between Ukraine and Russia has persisted since Ukraine seceded from the Soviet Union. Tensions between the two countries have been simmering for the past six months. Thus, on the border, Russia amassed more than a million troops.
Following this, the Internet in the “NATO” organization, which includes countries including the United States and Britain, Ukraine showed interest. Russia has strongly opposed the move. Outraged, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Russian forces to invade Ukraine on February 24.
Accordingly, Russian forces have been carrying out heavy attacks in Ukraine for more than a week. Russian forces have been deployed in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, Kharkiv and Gershon. The Ukrainian government says 200 people, including civilians, have been killed in the attack. The Ukrainian government says 9,000 Russian soldiers have been killed in retaliation for attacks by Russian forces. But the Russian military has not confirmed this information.
Russia also announced yesterday that it had seized the European Union’s largest nuclear reactor. Meanwhile, world leaders, including Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, US President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping, have called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the war and find a negotiated solution. But Russian President Vladimir Putin did not listen. Disgruntled countries, including the United States, have imposed sanctions on Russia and President Vladimir Putin.
In this context, Russia today announced the suspension of its war with Ukraine. Russia has said a ceasefire has been declared on humanitarian grounds for the evacuation of civilians trapped in the war zone.
