Ukraine-Russia War: IAEA Experts Head to Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine

The Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Raphael Grossiannounced this Monday morning that the agency’s experts are addressing Ukraine to visit the nuclear power plant of Zaporizhia.

“The day has come, the IAEA support and assistance mission for Zaporizhia is already underway,” Grossi wrote on his Twitter account, before showing himself “proud to lead this mission.”

Thus, it has specified that the mission will work at the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant throughout this week. In this line, the director general of the IAEA has urged to “protect the security of Ukraine and the largest nuclear facility in Europe”.

Previously, on Sunday, both the Russian Defense Ministry and the Ukrainian state energy operator, Energoatomconfirmed the total normality in the radiation levels of the Zaporizhia nuclear plant, the scene for weeks of fighting between the troops of Russia and those of Ukraine in the context of the war.
