The military situation. The best way to get out of a war is to win it. But neither side is there in Ukraine. On the Russian side, it is clear that things did not go as quickly and easily as hoped (one would have found ceremonial uniforms in the packs of Russian soldiers, intended to parade as winners in kyiv on the third or fourth day of the invasion…) On the Ukrainian side, the resistance organized in an urban guerrilla fashion is bearing fruit, making it possible to contain the advance of the Russian army, and even, here and there, to push it back. But the Ukrainians are not there to push the invader beyond their borders.
