Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Moscow declares independence from Russia

The Council of the Patriarchate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate (UOC) has declared “full independence” from the Russian Orthodox Church. This was reported by several Russian and Ukrainian media. The UOC of Moscow “condemned the position of the patriarch of Moscow Kirill and Russia’s war against Ukraine”, and “invited the parties to continue negotiations”.
