The Cuban Electrical Union (UNE) announced an increase in blackouts that will affect the population until the end of June.

According to the Castro company, this measure is due to the increase in the supposed maintenance work that is being carried out in several Thermoelectric Plants in the country.

According to a statement published on the UNE Facebook page, during the months of January to June maintenance activities will be intensified in the Thermal, Energy and Distributed Generation Plants, presumably to prepare for the months of July and August, which are greater electricity consumption and demand due to the population’s rest period.

“As has been reported in these months from January to June, maintenance activities at Thermal, Energy and Distributed Generation Plants are increased with the purpose of reaching the months of greatest consumption and electricity demand, which are July and August, months In addition, the rest of the population,” says part of the statement from the communist company.

The Castro electric company that always lies to Cubans with its communications, assures that they will carry out maintenance on the Felton Unit, which has generated an increase in interruptions of the electrical service.

He assures that the blackouts have occurred due to the need to limit some Thermal Generation Units to carry out cleanings and repairs due to unforeseen breakages, but the reality is that failures in the electrical service on the island have been occurring for years and although the dictatorship says that it is carrying out maintenance, the problem has not been solved.

Cubans must endure living in the middle of darkness, without having a way to cook and without resting well, because daily and for many hours, they are victims of electrical outages.
