He Edufinet Project of Unicaja has received the first prize in the Financial Education category, in the Over 65s section, during the presentation this Tuesday of the CECA Awards for Social Work and Financial Education 2022.

Specifically, the distinction highlights the work carried out by the initiative promoted by Unicaja Banco and the Unicaja Foundation to transfer to this segment of the population knowledge and skills that allow them to function with greater autonomy in managing their own finances, as well as improve their skills in managing digital banking.

Precisely with this objective, the Edufinet Project carries out workshops with which to increase the financial culture of the senior population segment, they point out in a statement. Among these educational initiatives is ‘Edufinet Ambassadors’, a program sponsored by the Savings Banks Foundation (Funcas) that allows us to address, in an online format, issues such as bank deposits, fixed or variable income, cybersecurity and taxation.

Likewise, in collaboration with Unicaja Banco, within the framework of the latter’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and the sectoral agreement signed in 2022 to improve care for vulnerable groups, including those over 65 years of age, Edufinet is committed to financial and digital inclusion and develops sessions that provide this segment of the population with the required skills.

The elderly have always had a priority interest in the programming of the Edufinet Project initiatives, which is why, at all times, they have emphasized the need to undertake activities with which they can acquire the appropriate skills for managing their finances ( now, especially, through digital channels) and, therefore, adapt to the demands of today’s society.
