The Malês campus of the University of International Integration of Afro-Brazilian Lusofonia (Unilab) received this Wednesday morning (06/12) two 4 x 4 pickup trucks, as a donation, from the Federal Revenue Service. The vehicles were received by education administrative technician Wellington Júnior and the director of the Malês campus Mírian Reis, who emphasized the importance of the partnership with this body for the Unilab university community.

“Today [06/12], we receive two vehicles that will be useful for the Malês campus community, with low mileage, serviced and cars in excellent condition. It is another step in strengthening our important partnership with the Federal Revenue Service, the body with which we have advanced strategies to regularize documentation for international students in a more fluid, dynamic way, with less travel impact and, thus, students are able to open bank accounts and be included in assistance programs”, points out director Mírian Reis. The Federal Revenue, starting this year, has worked in partnership with Unilab to speed up and facilitate the flow so that international students can obtain their CPF document.

According to the director, the vehicles will be useful for research, teaching and extension activities and for administrative actions. The transport manager of the Malês campus, Jonatas dos Santos, also emphasizes the importance of this increase in the fleet, for these activities at the Unilab Malês campus. “The donation is important because it reinforces the quantity, allowing us to meet more demands. Today we have more than 90 teachers in the house and 5 vehicles are not enough to meet all travel requests”, points out Santos. He points out that the Malês campus currently has the following vehicles: two buses, a minibus and, now, with the donation, it now has 4 pickup trucks.

The donation from the Federal Revenue comes from the renewal of its fleet that has been going on for 10 years and, therefore, the used vehicles were allocated to other partner bodies such as Unilab. “We know the university’s need for transport for students and teachers too”, points out Francisco Lessa, regional superintendent of the Federal Revenue Service/Bahia and Sergipe. Also according to Lessa, “we hope that fulfilling Unilab’s mission can become easier now with the help of the Brazilian Federal Revenue Service. This is part of our fiscal citizenship policy, showing another side of our body that is not only that of strength, which is sometimes necessary, but at times we also have the guiding side and the approach to the community and students. ”, he contextualizes.
