LOS ANGELES (Reuters) – The national council of actors union SAG-AFTRA endorsed a tentative contract deal with Hollywood studios on Friday, and will send the proposal to members for a final ratification vote.

SAG-AFTRA chief negotiator Duncan Crabtree-Ireland said 86% of the board supported the deal with Netflix (NASDAQ:), WaltDisney, Warner Bros Discovery (NASDAQ:) and other members of the Motion Picture and Television Producers Alliance (AMPTP).

The agreement increases minimum wages, provides for new bonus payments for streaming services and establishes limits around the use of artificial intelligence in film production.

The agreement was reached on Wednesday, ending the second of two overlapping strikes in the U.S. entertainment industry that cost California’s economy more than $6 billion.

The first, led by the Screenwriters Guild of America (WGA), began in May and lasted 148 days. SAG-AFTRA halted activities in July and ended the strike this week, after 118 days.
