“Examination and approval of the urban plan”

For its part, the city of San Francisco has filed a complaint and opened an investigation to clarify the conditions under which this symbol could have been installed, indicates the agency. Because any replacement or installation of new signs on public buildings requires a permit, particularly for safety issues. “The installation of this panel also requires the review and approval of the urban plan”, underlined Patrick Hannan, the spokesman of the department of the inspection of the buildings.

The previous days, San Francisco police officers had arrested workers who were in the process of dismantling the letters of the “Twitter” panel and the bird, the platform’s emblematic former logo. And for good reason, the workers in question did not have a permit authorizing them to dismantle the structure. In particular, they had not blocked the sidewalk to protect passers-by in the event of falling equipment. The workmen’s operation was then temporarily interrupted, according to The San Francisco Standard.

The headquarters of X will not move

On Saturday, a city inspector allegedly tried several times to enter the platform building to obtain information, without success, according to the local newspaper. For his part, Elon Musk assured the same day that the headquarters of X was not going to move.

“Many have offered interesting proposals to X to move its headquarters out of San Francisco. Moreover, the city is in a catastrophic spiral with one company after another leaving.
