The third round of the English Cup took place tonight (Monday) and at the center of Manchester United will host Steven Gerard’s Aston Villa. The games will be held from January 7 to 10.
The rest of England’s majors received particularly comfortable lotteries. Chesterfield, one of four amateur teams in the draw, will host Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Liverpool will host Shrewsbury from the third division while Manchester City champions will be hosted by Swindon Town from the fourth division.
The trophy holder, Lester, will meet Watford and former coach Claudio Ranieri. In another meeting on Premier League purity, West Ham will host Marcelo Bailesa’s Leeds United.
