Judgment in the Depp-Heard trial was delivered on 1is June, but the case does not seem to be over yet. In an opinion piece in the British newspaper The Guardian, columnist Arwa Mahdawi is interested in some 6,000 pages of court documents, recently released to the public after an initiative by the actor’s fans. According to the headline, these exhibits used in the trial show that Johnny Depp’s defense “has instrumentalized misogyny”.

Amber Heard had signed a platform in the Washington Post in 2018 in which she claimed to have suffered sexual violence, without naming her ex-husband Johnny Depp. The latter then sued her for defamation, to which she responded with a counter-complaint for defamation.

At the end of this highly publicized double trial, the actors were both ordered to pay damages. The conviction of Amber Heard amounted to 15 million dollars, that of Johnny Depp to 2 million. On July 21, Heard appealed.
