In this regard, the Election Commission issued a press release on Tuesday: It has been decided to hold by-polls for 7 assembly constituencies in the states of Jharkhand, Kerala, Tripura, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.

Former Kerala Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Oomman Chandy was the MLA from Pudupally for over 50 years. His son Sandy Ooman has been announced as the Congress candidate for that constituency in the by-elections.

The other six assembly constituencies spread across Jharkhand, Tripura, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand, each have their own unique dynamics. Parties will be carefully selecting their candidates and strategizing their campaigns to secure victory.

The Election Commission’s decision to hold the by-polls indicates the commitment to a fair and democratic process. These by-elections provide an opportunity for the voters to voice their opinions and elect representatives who will work towards their best interests.

Political observers will be closely watching these by-polls as they have the potential to impact the overall political equations in the respective states. The results will reveal the changing voter preferences and could potentially influence the course of future elections.

As the date of the by-polls approaches, political parties and candidates are expected to intensify their campaign efforts to woo the voters. Public rallies, door-to-door campaigns, and social media strategies will be employed to convey party ideologies and garner support.

Overall, the upcoming by-polls are set to be crucial for the political parties involved, as they seek to establish or consolidate their presence in these constituencies. The Election Commission’s announcement has set the stage for an exciting political battle, with candidates vying for the voters’ trust and support.
