Likewise, up to a thousand “CC” medical interns and a thousand CC nursing interns, who provide social service in underdeveloped areas, will receive a monthly amount of assistance for performance in these areas.

This measure helps to pay fairly and equitably to social service interns who work in marginalized areas for the benefit of the population’s health.

In addition, it enables us to focus strategies and actions to improve access, where these professionals from different disciplines help to address the health needs of individuals, families and communities, mainly at the first level of care.

The increase in the amount of scholarship for social service interns has a positive effect on the choice of high and very high marginalization units, in line with priority objective 3 of the Health Sector Programme, which indicates an increase in human resources and infrastructures in the institutions that make it up. the National Health System (SNS), with an emphasis on regions with high and very high marginalization, to respond to the priorities, under a differentiated, intercultural approach and with a rights perspective.

The 100 percent increase in the scholarship for undergraduate internal medicine physicians is historic and follows an act of social justice, by recognizing their commendable work and the impact of their functions for the good of society.

The new scholarship table is the result of the work carried out by the Directorate General for Quality and Health Education of the Ministry of Health, as the body responsible for regulating, controlling and evaluating the designation of clinical areas, undergraduate internship scholarships, social service. medical and paramedical residencies, in collaboration with secondary and higher education institutions of the NHS and health services in the federal entities.

This agreement comes into force today and supersedes the previous one, dated 1 August 2016.
