Palakkad: Adulterated milk seized at Kerala-Tamil Nadu border. The milk was seized during the inspection conducted at the Meenakshipuram check post. 12750 liters of milk was seized.

The milk was brought from Tamil Nadu. Preliminary tests revealed that urea was mixed with the milk. Urea is added to increase the amount of non-fatty matter. The inspection was conducted by the Dairy Development Department. The milk tanker has been handed over to the Food Safety Department for further action.

The state government against the acquittal of the Chavittunatakam teacher in the case of molesting a nine-and-a-half-year-old girl during the school’s annual day celebration in Putthantod, Ernakulam. The intervention of the Supreme Court in the petition filed by the state against the High Court action which gave the benefit of doubt to the Chavittunadakam teacher. Kerala’s argument is that the High Court did not consider the medical evidence in the case. Through the petition, the state has also pointed out that the court erred in the case by not considering many of the main findings of the prosecution. The petition was filed by Harshad V Hameed, standing counsel for the state. The court will hear the case again on October 10. The incident related to the case took place during the annual celebration of Puthantod School. This was in 2013. The trial court awarded life sentence to the accused in the case. But the High Court gave the benefit of doubt and let the accused go. The state government approached the Supreme Court against this.
