Among the leading stocks in the index today, Chevron (NYSE:) stood out, which added 2.93% or 4.34 points to its value, and its price was 152.23 at the close of trading. Meanwhile, Caterpillar (NYSE: ) added 2.44% or 7.50 points to trade at 315.19, while Microsoft (NASDAQ: ) added 1.84% or 7.44 points to trade at 411.22 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Walgreens Boots Alliance (NASDAQ: ), which declined 2.62% or 0.61 points to trade at 22.64 at the close. Intel (NASDAQ: ) shed 1.75% or 0.76 points to 42.60 and Johnson & Johnson (NYSE: ) was down 1.11% or 1.75 points to 156.61.

The best performers today in the S&P 500 were Meta Platforms (NASDAQ: ), which added 20.32% to its value at 474.99, AdWords Life Sciences (NYSE: ), which completed an increase of 9.41% and closed at 86.12, and Amazon (NASDAQ: ), which increased by 7.87% and ended the trade at a price of 171.81.

Among the weakest stocks today were Charter Communications (NASDAQ:), which fell 16.51% and ended the trading day at 319.21, Jen Digital (NASDAQ:), which lost 11.25% to 21.23 and First Solar (NASDAQ: :), which weakened by 4.10% and closed the trading day on the stock exchange at a price of 141.82.
