/ The US Treasury Department announced, on Wednesday, the imposition of new sanctions related to Iran, including 3 individuals and 4 entities, on charges of smuggling American technology to the Central Bank of Iran.

“The Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Assets Control has imposed sanctions on a procurement network responsible for facilitating the illicit export of goods and technology to end users in Iran, including the Central Bank of Iran, which is sanctioned for its role in providing financial support to the IRGC-QF and Hizballah,” the department said in a statement.

The ministry said in the statement: “These sanctions include 3 individuals and 4 entities, related to the purchase of advanced American technology for use by the Central Bank of Iran, in violation of US export restrictions and sanctions.”

The United States and several Western countries are imposing strict sanctions on Iran, related to its nuclear and missile programs, human rights violations, as well as Tehran’s cooperation with Moscow.

The US Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control had previously decided to issue sanctions against three entities on the grounds that they had a role in undermining peace, security and stability in Sudan.
