Dubai: The UAE Public Prosecution has warned of heavy fines for illegally collecting personal information. They face a fine of 500,000 dirhams and imprisonment. The UAE Public Prosecution made the announcement on Twitter. It is against the law of the land to collect personal information of individuals.

According to Article 13 of the Federal Law of 2021, the personal information and data of citizens or foreigners of the country may not be collected. The law states that users of any information technology can be imprisoned and punished for collecting such information using their systems.
