Discovery at Government Higher Secondary School
The incident unfolded at the Government Higher Secondary School in Dabara village, Almora district. According to reports, the school’s principal, Subhash Singh, discovered suspicious packets while on the school grounds Thursday afternoon. “Immediately, two teams of policemen reached the school and cordoned off the area,” a senior official stated.
Authorities quickly mobilized, bringing in bomb and dog squads from Udham Singh Nagar and Nainital districts to thoroughly search the premises. The dog squad located small packets of gelatin sticks in the bushes, with additional packages found approximately 20 feet away.
Scale of the Seizure
A total of 161 gelatin sticks, weighing over 20 kg, were recovered from the Sult region. SSP Devendra Pincha confirmed that the bomb squad secured the packages and transported them to a safe location for further analysis.
The recovery follows the seizure of approximately 3000 kg of explosives in Haryana after the explosion at the Red Fort in Delhi, suggesting a potential pattern of illicit explosive activity.
Ongoing Investigation and Security Measures
